MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama officially began preparation for the 2023 season as the Jags opened fall camp Friday morning under third-year head coach
Kane Wommack.
The Jaguars worked out for just over two hours outside at the James A. and Frances H. Yance Football Practice Facility in helmets.
Following the first practice of the season, Wommack, as well as quarterback
Carter Bradley, offensive lineman
Josh McCulloch, safety
Jaden Voisin and linebacker
Quentin Wilfawn met with the media to discuss and recap day one.
South Alabama will have one more day in helmets before shifting to uppers for three days and then conduct its first practice in full pads on Thursday, August 10.
The Jags will then go through three more weeks of camp before entering "Game Week" preparations on Aug. 28 for its season-opening match-up against Tulane, which is set for kickoff at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2 at Yulman Stadium.
All practices are held in the morning and are closed to the general public.
