MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama men's tennis head coach Nick Brochu announced Tuesday the addition of transfer Rostislav Halfinger and incoming freshman Theo Mottier to the Jaguar roster. Halfinger comes to South Alabama after two seasons at South Carolina State University and Mottier comes to Mobile after graduating high school in France.

Over two years, Halfinger posted a 18-13 singles record and a 19-6 in doubles. He played the majority of the 2022-23 season from number four singles but played at number one and two singles during the 2021-22 season.

In doubles, he played from the number two spot in the 2022-23 season and went 8-1. In 2021-22, he posted an 11-5 record and played from both the number one and two spots.

Halfinger, a native of Germany, was part of a South Carolina State team that won the 2023 MEAC men's tennis championship, after also winning the title in 2022. Halfinger and the Bulldogs then made back-to-back NCAA appearances but fell in the first round both times.

Prior to his collegiate career, Halfinger played in Germany and has won the Juniors J4 Fujairah title in 2020, the Juniors J3 Tashkent and J4 Almaty titles in 2019 and the Juniors ITF East Africa Junior Circuit 18 & Under KEN 1 title in 2018.

Mottier comes to Mobile after graduating high school in France in July 2023. Mottier has a French ranking of 0 and has multiple wins against negative players. He has a record 12-12 in juniors' action. Mottier plans to study Sports Management.
