MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama junior Yam Banks was selected as a preseason All-American by Phil Steele, released by the publication earlier this week.

He earned fourth-team honors on the preseason team.

A returning all-conference and All-American selection, he finished the season with a team-high six interceptions including one in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. Banks finished with 50 total tackles, including 35 solo stops with six tackles for loss. He also recorded 11 pass breakups.
