MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama men's tennis starts postseason action Thursday, taking on the No. 9 seed Southern Miss on Thursday at 1 p.m. in Peachtree City, Ga.
South Alabama claimed the number one seed for the conference tournament after finishing the regular season 7-1 and being named co-champions with Old Dominion. Southern Miss played Wednesday, beating No. 8 Coastal Carolina 5-2.
The Jags are host to the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year in
Sebastien Collard, who won the same award in 2022. Collard was also named first team All-Conference for singles and was joined by
Maxime St-Hilaire on the first team and
Louis Delcour on the second team.
South also had two doubles duos earn All-Conference honors, with
Jack Clements and Delcour named to the first team and
Martin Bugaj and Collard named to the second. South is also coached by the Sun Belt Co-Coach of the year, Nick Brochu.
South Alabama and the Eagles met earlier in the regular season, with South Alabama getting the 6-1 win.
The Jags have claimed three of the last four Sun Belt Tournament titles, winning in 2018, 2019 and 2021, but fell in the finals last year.
All matches will be played in Peachtree City, Ga., at the Peachtree City Tennis Center and will be streamed on ESPN+. Links to the stream and live scoring can be found on usajaguars.com
