MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama returns to action on Tuesday night at Stanky Field in its only midweek action facing New Orleans with first pitch set for 6:30 pm on ESPN+.
South Alabama (6-6) has won both of their midweek games this season, defeating Nicholls at home and Tulane on the road earlier in February, and will face New Orleans (7-4) for the first of two meetings in Mobile this season. The Jags enter the contest off an 8-3 victory over Southern in the South Alabama Invitational presented by the Hampton by Hilton at Providence Park on Sunday.
The game will be the first of four on the week with the Jags hitting the road to face Jacksonville State beginning Friday night.
Will Turner leads the Jags at the plate with a .438 batting average and a 1.222 OPS that includes six doubles, two triples and a home run.
JG Bell is hitting .318 with a pair of doubles and a home run, while
Cole Ketzner is at .310 and
Colson Lawrence at .304 through 12 games. On the mound,
Sam Knowlton (1-0) has not allowed a run in 4.2 innings while
Grant Wood (1-0) has a pair of saves and a 1.29 ERA.
