MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama will play five games in six days this week with a pair of midweek games beginning on Tuesday night against Southeastern Louisiana at Eddie Stanky Field with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 pm.
South Alabama (9-15, 1-5 Sun Belt) will also hit the road to face Nicholls on Wednesday night, while also traveling to James Madison for a three-game weekend conference series. The Jags lead the all-time series with both Southeastern Louisiana and Nicholls and will meet James Madison for the first time in school history. They defeated Nicholls 5-4 early this season and will face Southeastern Louisiana later this year on the road.
South Alabama is led offensively by
Will Turner who is hitting .372 with eight doubles and four home runs, while
Micah Morgan is at .324 on the season.
Colson Lawrence is hitting .278 with a team-high six home runs on the year, with
Joseph Sullivan adding another five for the Jags.
On the mound,
Grant Wood (3-1) leads the team in wins, appearances and saves (with three) and has recorded a 3.00 earned run average. Meanwhile,
Gehrig Conard has recorded a team-high 43 strikeouts.
