MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama ventures outside of Sun Belt Conference (SBC) play looking to get back on track when it faces Auburn at Montgomery's Riverwalk Stadium on Tuesday night.
First pitch is scheduled for 6 pm.
South Alabama (8-12) and Auburn (13-6-1) both enter the game after dropping their first conference series of the season, the Jags to Georgia Southern and Auburn to Arkansas. South Alabama looks to get back in the column after dropping six consecutive games, with its last win coming against Jacksonville State back on March 10 against Jacksonville State. The game is the first of four this week for the Jags who host Louisiana this weekend in conference play.
Will Turner leads the Jags at the plate hitting .385 through 20 games with 12 extra base hits, including eight doubles and two triples. He has scored 14 runs and knocked a team-high 21 RBI.
Colson Lawrence is hitting .292 with four home runs, while
JG Bell is at .289 with three doubles.
Sam Knowlton (1-0, 1.80 ERA) leads the team in ERA through six appearances with his first start of the season coming against Auburn, while
Grant Wood (3-0, 2.84 ERA) leads the team with two saves, three wins and nine appearances.
Gehrig Conard (0-4, 3.52 ERA) leads the team with 37 strikeouts.
