STATESBORO, Ga. | South Alabama hits the road to open Sun Belt Conference play with a three-game series against Georgia Southern beginning Friday night with the series opener moving to a 5 pm (ET) first pitch.

South Alabama (8-9) looks to end a modest three-game losing streak, entering the game after a 4-0 midweek loss at home to No. 24 Alabama on Tuesday night.

Will Turner leads the Jags at the plate hitting .394 through 17 games with 11 extra base hits, including eight doubles and two triples. He has scored 12 runs and knocked a team-high 19 RBI. Joseph Sullivan is hitting .313 with a pair of home runs, while Colson Lawrence is at .305 with a team-high four home runs.  

Sam Knowlton (1-0, 1.80 ERA) leads the team in ERA through six appearances, while Grant Wood (3-0, 3.09 ERA) leads the team with two saves, three wins and nine appearances. Gehrig Conard (0-3, 2.84 ERA) leads the team with 32 strikeouts.
