2023 Football Schedule
MOBILE, Ala. | The Sun Belt Conference released the 2023 football schedule on Friday afternoon, featuring a pair of midweek games for South Alabama and two new opponents from the East Division.
South Alabama (10-3, 7-1 Sun Belt a season ago) opens conference play on the road against James Madison, a team that tied for the East Division championship last season, on September 30. They stay on the road for the following week with a divisional matchup at ULM on October 7.
Following 10 days off, the Jags return to action at home in a rare Tuesday night performance against Southern Miss in the home conference opener on October 17. The Jags will then have 11 days between games before hitting the field at Hancock Whitney Stadium on October 28 against Louisiana.
After two games n 20 days, South Alabama will face a quick turnaround when they head to Troy to face their in-state foe and the defending conference champions on a Thursday night contest with kick set for November 2. Following their second midweek game of the season, the Jags will face Arkansas State (November 11) and Marshall (November 18) at home, before closing out the regular season on the road at Texas State (November 25).
The conference schedule joins four games that were previously announced by the Jags in non-conference play beginning with a road game at Tulane (September 2), Southeastern Louisiana (September 9), on the road at Oklahoma State (September 16), and Central Michigan (September 23).
