MOBILE, Ala. – The Jaguars remain home next week, welcoming in the Nicholls Colonels for a Monday night showdown at the Mitchell Center. First tip is set for 7 p.m.
South is coming off an 80-63 win, which saw two Jaguars get their first double-doubles -
Kelsey Thompson and
Emani Burks. The Jags finished with four in double figures for the third time this season.
On Thursday, Nicholls dropped their last contest, falling to Alcorn State 46-54. The Colonels are now 5-4 on the year.
South Alabama is coming off a 1-1 trip at the Denver Classic, falling to Nevada before beating the Denver Pios in the final game of the classic.
For Monday's contest, both The Jaguars and the Colonels are led by a new coach. Head Coach
Yolisha Jackson is in her first year as a head coach overall, while Justin Payne of Nicholls is in his first season in Thibodaux but his fifth overall.
Monday's game is also a "Navy Out" and the annual toy drive, where fans can bring an unopened toy to receive free general admission.

- Lexi Alexander leads the Privateers with 10.9 ppg.
- Alexander was named to the Southland Conference Preseason All-Conference Second Team, after finishing last season ranked fourth in the league in scoring at 13.8 points per game, third in rebounding (8.4) and fifth in blocks (1.1). She tied for second in the league with eight double-doubles.
- New Orleans is averaging 64.3 pgg, while only allowing 58.8.
- Nicholls returned nine, including all five starters from a year ago, and welcomed nine newcomers.

- South Alabama is 18-4 all-time against Nicholls, with the last meeting between the teams being a 74-73 win for the Jaguars in Thibodaux.
