La'Damian Webb and defensive back
Yam Banks were named First Team All-Sun Belt, released by the conference office on Thursday morning. The pair lead five other selections plus four honorable mention selections on this year's team.
Webb, a two-time Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week honoree, finished the regular season with 1,015 rushing yards, becoming the second player in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season despite missing two games. He rushed for over 100 yards three different times on the season, including 124 yards at the Rose Bowl against UCLA, while also rushing for 152 yards and three touchdowns on the road against Arkansas State and another 247 yards and four touchdowns (both school records) on the road at Georgia Southern. Webb currently ranks in the top 50 in seven different categories nationally, including 13th in rushing touchdowns and 10th in total touchdowns. He also recorded 17 receptions for 184 yards out of the backfield with a touchdown.
He was joined on the first team by Banks on the defensive side of the ball. He ranks nationally in interceptions (fourth) and interceptions per game (fifth), which leads the conference. Banks scored a defensive touchdown against Louisiana Tech on one of his five interceptions on the season from his defensive back position. He finished fifth on the team in tackles with 45, including six tackles for loss and a sack (against Southern Miss). Banks also recorded 10 pass breakups and five quarterback hurries while recovering a fumble. He recorded five or more tackles five times, including seven against Old Dominion and six against Troy.

The two were joined by wide receiver
Jalen Wayne and placekicker
Diego Guajardo on the second team with Wayne earning a 2023 Senior Bowl selection and setting a new school record with nine receiving touchdowns this season. The senior finished the regular season with 793 yards (leads the team) on 56 receptions (second on the team). He averaged 14.16 yards per reception and 66.08 yards per game. Wayne currently stands second in school history in career receiving yards (1,956) and third in career receptions with 150, and he is also fifth in school history in single-season receptions. He currently ranks nationally in five different categories, including 22nd in receiving touchdowns. Wayne recorded three or more receptions in 11 of his 12 games this season, including a season-high 10 for 98 yards and a touchdown against Central Michigan. He also finished with nine receptions for 68 yards against Troy and recorded 127 yards on five receptions against ULM.

Meanwhile, Guajardo, a Lou Groza semifinalist was perfect on the year in field goals through nine games this fall before missing his only kick against Texas State. The junior currently ranks nationally in four different categories, including sixth in field goal percentage. He also ranks 29th in field goals per game and is in the top 50 in scoring and total points scored. Guajardo has six games of two or more field goals this year, including five in conference play, and set the single-season scoring mark for the program. He finished the regular season 17-for-18 in field goals, including 5-for-5 from 40-49 yards, and connected on 44-of-45 extra point attempts.

The Jags also had three third-team selections with Webb getting the nod at All-Purpose, and joined by offensive lineman
James Jackson and defensive back
Darrell Luter Jr. on the team. Jackson helped anchor an offensive line that produced Webb's second 1,000-yard rusher in school history and a near 3,000-yard passer in
Carter Bradley. He helped the team finish the regular season averaging 423.8 yards of total offense per game, including 4.1 yards per carry running the football. The Jags allowed 22 sacks as a team, averaging 1.83 sacks given up per game, and were also honored this season by being named to the Joe Moore Midseason Honor Roll.

Meanwhile, Luter, a 2023 Senior Bowl invitee, finished the year with 37 tackles with teams throwing away from him as the boundary corner for South Alabama. He finished with 25 solo tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss. He also recorded five pass breakups and an interception (Louisiana) and was one of the best corners in the nation after being named to five watch lists at the beginning of the season. Luter recorded three or more tackles six times during the season including five against each Troy and Southern Miss and was credited with four stops against Louisiana Tech and Arkansas State.

South Alabama also placed four players on the honorable mention list including Bradley, who set single-season school records in completions (240), passing yards (2,983), and touchdown passes (25). He was joined on the offensive side of the ball by receiver
Devin Voisin who finished 53 receptions on the season and over 700 yards receiving. The Jags placed a pair of players on the defensive side of the ball led by defensive back
Jaden Voisin who led the team in tackles and defensive lineman
Wy'Kevious Thomas who finished with three sacks.
