NEW ORLEANS – The University of South Alabama baseball team earned the No. 1 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Championship after capturing the 2021 SBC East Division title on Saturday.

The SBC Championship, scheduled for May 25-30 at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Ala., will feature a pool-play format this season. South Alabama will compete in Pool A against No. 6 East seed Coastal Carolina and No. 4 West seed Little Rock for the opportunity to advance to the semifinal round, which is single elimination, against the winner of Pool D that contains No.2 West seed UTA, No. 3 East Troy and No. 5 West Arkansas State.

USA will open the SBC Championship on Wed., May 26, at 11 a.m. against Coastal Carolina, and will face Little Rock on Thu., May 27, at 11 a.m. at Riverwalk Stadium. Little Rock and Coastal Carolina will play the tournament's first game on Tue., May 25, at 9 a.m. The SBC Championship final is set for Sun., May 30 at 1 p.m.
