 All-Time Series
South Alabama owns a 50-27 all-time lead over Auburn in a series that dates back to 1968. Auburn won the last meeting between the schools in 2019 at Stanky Field by a 6-2 decision. The Tigers have won three straight in the series. USA's last win over Auburn came in 2017 in a 14-3 victory at Plainsman Park. The Jaguars are 3-5 all-time against the Tigers under head coach Mark Calvi.

USA owns a 3-2 all-time series lead over Southern in a series that began in 1987. The Jags took two of three games from SU in 2016 at Stanky Field, which marked the last meeting between the schools. 

JAGS IN TOP 3 NATIONALLY IN SACRIFICE BUNTS
South Alabama enters the week ranked third nationally and first in the Sun Belt Conference in sacrifice bunts with 19. The Jaguars led the nation in sacrifice bunts prior to this week. Santi Montiel and Reid Powers lead the Sun Belt and rank tied for 10th nationally with four sacrifice bunts each.

OFFENSE OVER THE WEEKEND
After posting consecutive games  (Jacksonville State & Southern Miss) with 10-plus hits and five total home runs, South Alabama totaled 15 hits and did not hit a home run in its three-game Sun Belt Conference opener at UT Arlington last weekend; however, the Jags drew 17 walks and had three batters reach via hit by pitch in the three-game set.

ALLOWING FIVE OR LESS
The Jaguars have allowed five or fewer runs in their last five games, and are 4-1 during that span. South Alabama is 10-3 this season when allowing five or less.

JAGUAR PITCHING STAFF IN SBC RANKINGS
The Jaguar pitching staff leads the Sun Belt Conference in ERA (3.71), ranks second in opposing batting average (.228) and third in strikeouts (183).

TWO-OUT RBIs
South Alabama has recorded 33 two-out RBIs this season, which accounts for 42 percent of its 78 total RBIs. Hunter Stokes leads the team with nine RBIs with two outs, followed by Ethan Wilson with six.

JAGS WHEN OUTHITTING THE OPPOSITION
South Alabama is 7-0 when outhitting the opposition this season, 2-5 when getting outhit and 1-4 when hits are tied.

HITTING, ON-BASE STREAKS
Center fielder Michael Sandle carries a team-best six-game hitting streak into Tuesday's contest. Ethan Wilson enters the game with a nine-game on-base streak.

Second baseman Hunter Stokes enters Tuesday's game in need of one hit to eclipse the 100-hit mark for his career. 

JAGUAR DEFENSE TRENDING IN RIGHT DIRECTION
South Alabama enters the week having committed just one error in its last six games, which covers a span of 53 innings. The Jags committed an error in game two of last weekend's UTA series, snapping a four-game errorless streak.

RUNS ALLOWED OVER FINAL THREE INNINGS
South Alabama has allowed 45 total runs in the final three innings of games this season, while allowing 47 total runs in the first six innings of contests.

SEASON HIGH IN HITS FOLLOWED BY SEASON LOW
South Alabama recorded a season-high 13 hits in its March 9 loss at No. 23 Alabama, but finished with a season-low one hit in the series opener with Jacksonville State on March 12, which came in the form of a double by Ethan Wilson.

WILSON NAMED TO GOLDEN SPIKES AWARD WATCH LIST
Ethan Wilson was selected to the 2021 USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List, marking the second straight season he has been named to the list. 

POWERS NAMED TO BUSTER POSEY AWARD WATCH LIST
Jaguar catcher Reid Powers was named to the 2021 Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Watch List on March 9. The award is given annually to the nation's top Division I catcher by The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission. Semifinalists will be announced May 20, and finalists on June 7 with the winner to be named on a date that has not yet been determined.

WILSON NAMED PRESEASON SBC PLAYER OF THE YEAR, ALL-AMERICA
Ethan Wilson was named the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Player of the Year, marking the second straight season he was voted the league's top player in preseason voting. Wilson was also named Baseball America First-Team Preseason All-America, and Third-Team Preseason All-America by D1Baseball.

WILSON NAMED TO BOBBY BRAGAN COLLEGIATE SLUGGER AWARD WATCH LIST
Ethan Wilson was named to 2021 Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award watch list, which honors the nation's top collegiate hitter. Wilson was one of 48 student-athletes named to the watch list, and the lone Sun Belt Conference representative.
