 All-Time Series
The all-time series between South Alabama and Oral Roberts is tied 3-3 entering the weekend. USA defeated ORU 11-8 in the first-ever meeting between the schools in Lake Charles, La., in 2003, before the Golden Eagle took two of three games in a series at ORU in 2004. The schools split a pair of games in 2005 at Stanky Field with the Jags taking the finale 6-5.

LEHRMANN TO MAKE FIRST CAREER START
Jaguar left-hander Tyler Lehrmann will make first career start in the series opener. Lehrmann is 1-1 with a 3.78 ERA and 21 strikeouts against nine walks in 16 2/3 career innings at South Alabama, which spans seven relief appearances.

WILSON NAMED PRESEASON SBC PLAYER OF THE YEAR, ALL-AMERICA
Ethan Wilson was named the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Player of the Year, marking the second straight season he was voted the league's top player in preseason voting. Wilson was also named Baseball America First-Team Preseason All-America, and Third-Team Preseason All-America by D1Baseball.

JAGS LEAD NATION IN SACRIFICE BUNTS
South Alabama enters the series as the national leader in sacrifice bunts with eight entering the weekend. Noah Bailey, Kaleb DeLaTorre and Reid Powers each enter the series tied for the Sun Belt Conference lead in sacrifice bunts (2), which ranks tied for sixth nationally.

MONTIEL IN TOP FIVE NATIONALLY IN WALKS
Santi Montiel enters the weekend ranked tied for fifth nationally in walks (6), which is tied for the Sun Belt Conference lead. 

TWO-OUT RBIs
South Alabama has recorded six two-out RBIs so far this season, which accounts for 40 percent of its 15 total RBIs. Hunter Stokes leads the team with three RBIs with two outs, followed by Michael Sandle with two.

JAG PITCHING STAFF IN SBC RANKINGS
The Jaguar pitching staff ranks third in the Sun Belt Conference in ERA (3.65) and strikeouts (49) entering the weekend series. 

JAG DEFENSE LOOKS TO SNAP STREAK
The Jaguar defense has commited multiple errors in each game this season, with a season-high three errors in the season opener against Southeast Missouri.

78 AND COUNTING
Shortsop Santi Montiel has started in 78 consecutive games - every game since joining the program. He started all 56 games in 2019, in addition to all 18 games last season, and has started each game this year.

DELATORRE, WILSON CONSECUTIVE STARTS STREAKS END
Both Kaleb DeLaTorre and Ethan Wilson each had a 74-game consecutive starts streak snapped after neither started in the season opener against Southeast Missouri on Feb. 19.

WILSON RETURNS TO LINEUP
Ethan Wilson made his return to the Jaguar lineup when he earned his first start of the season as designated hitter Feb. 23 against Southern Miss. 

WILSON NAMED TO GOLDEN SPIKES AWARD WATCH LIST
Ethan Wilson was selected to the 2021 USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List, marking the second straight season he has been named to the list. 

WILSON NAMED TO BOBBY BRAGAN COLLEGIATE SLUGGER AWARD WATCH LIST
Ethan Wilson was named to 2021 Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award watch list, which honors the nation's top collegiate hitter. Wilson was one of 48 student-athletes named to the watch list, and the lone Sun Belt Conference representative. The winner of the BBCSA will be announced in June at the Fort Worth Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

JAGS PICKED SECOND IN SUN BELT EAST DIVISION
The Jaguars were picked to finish second in the Sun Belt Conference East Division in a preseason poll voted on by the league's coaches. USA earned one first-place vote behind Coastal Carolina, who was picked to win the division with 10 first-place votes.
