College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Division I women's soccer team, the organization announced Friday.
This is Wilson's first All-America selection, as she paced South Alabama with 11 goals, 10 assists and 32 points this season. The junior also led the Sun Belt Conference in points, points per game (1.65) and game-winning goals (6), and ranked second in the conference in goals, assists and assists per game (0.47). She led the Jaguars to their third consecutive conference tournament title this fall while earning MVP honors.
The Conyers, Ga., native is pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology while holding a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average; she was named to the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's list each of the last two years.
The 2019 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, 2021 Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year has been named first-team all-conference in each of the past three seasons, while helping the Jags to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
Wilson's selection marks the third in program history and the second first-team honor. Tiina Trutsi was named first-team All-America in 2017 and Clarissa Hernandez earned second-team honors in 2013.
In order to be considered for Academic All-America honors, student-athletes must be chosen to an academic all-district team. Wilson earned recognition in District 4 for the second straight year in November.
