MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama head men's basketball coach Richie Riley announced Thursday that Jamar Franklin signed a National-Letter-of-Intent with the program.
 
Franklin, a 6-2 combo guard from Rockledge, Fla., averaged 20.8 points per game, 5.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.6 steals as a junior at Rockledge High School. Franklin was named the district player of the year and earned second-team all-state honors in 5A. As a junior, Franklin scored at least 20 or more points in 16 games for the Raiders and scored in double digits in 25 of his 27 contests. Franklin made at least one three-pointer in all but one contest that same season as well.
 
Franklin is rated a three-star prospect and ranked as a top-35 player in the state of Florida according to 247Sports.
 
Franklin joins three-star prospect Julian Margrave, who signed on Nov. 10, as part of South Alabama's early signee class.
