2021 D1Baseball Third-Team Preseason All-Americans

MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama baseball outfielder Ethan Wilson was named Third-Team Preseason All-America by D1Baseball on Tuesday.

Wilson batted .282 with four doubles, three home runs, 12 RBIs, 13 runs scored and six stolen bases in 18 games in 2020. He recorded five multiple-hit games, and drove in multiple runs in two contests. 

The Andalusia, Alabama, native has hit .330 with 20 doubles, four triples, 20 home runs, 63 RBIs, 72 runs scored and 12 stolen bases while posting a .632 slugging percentage and .425 on-base percentage in 74 career games played at South Alabama.

Last season, Wilson was voted the 2020 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Player of the Year, and was a Collegiate Baseball Preseason First-Team All-America selection, and Second-Team Preseason All-America by D1Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. 

As a freshman in 2019, Wilson broke the school's freshman home run record with 17 in 56 games en route to earning Co-Freshman of the Year by Collegiate Baseball, 2019 Sun Belt Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, First-Team Freshman All-America by Collegiate Baseball, Baseball America and the NCBWA, Third-Team All-America by Collegiate Baseball and the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings, first-team all-central region and first-team all-SBC. Wilson hit safely in 45 of 56 games his freshman season.
