THEY SAID IT
Head coach Nick Brochu
- On how the early part of the spring has prepared the team for the upcoming challenges: "Our guys are looking forward to the challenge this weekend. We just played two matches at home where we were able to pick up a pair of wins. I think getting those two wins helped with our confidence. We were also able to try some different doubles pairings which worked out well. Our players really responded well to that. We had a very challenging month of January; the schedule was very strong, but we did that to prepare us for our February matches and conference play. Even though we lost those three matches in January, I feel our guys learned from playing those high-level players."
- On Miami: "Miami is a great program that has been established for more than a decade. It will definitely be a challenge for us. We played them two years ago in a very close match. We had our chances in that match. Both teams this season are different right now as far as the makeup of the squad. We're looking forward to playing them."
- On Florida Atlantic: "We've played FAU every year. They are a very good program as well. We were able to defeat them last season, but they are a strong program especially on their home court. They are a similar type program to us as we've both been in the NCAA tournament. They will be a good challenge for us and we are definitely going to have to be ready when we face them."
- On the focus in both matches; "We aren't going to focus on who we are playing, but rather on how we need to play. The doubles point will be very important this weekend as it sets the tone and gives you a boost of confidence."
