THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Nick Brochu
- On Saturday's performance at the Gridiron Classic: "Overall, today was great and everyone was focused. Our opponents tried to intimidate us on some courts, but we did not let it affect us. We had some close matches, and some matches went into three sets. The results were much better today, but the main focus was that we took care of business. We took care of the small details, and it showed in our results. Georgia Southern is a good team, but we made a statement that showed we are the defending [Sun Belt Conference] champions; we have made our first impression, and we looked like a dominant team. I am very pleased with the team. We have one more day and the third day is always the toughest one. We are tired, but so is everyone else. Tomorrow is going to be down to who is more professional, more disciplined, more focused and who can deliver the final push."
- On entering Sunday's action: "We have one more day and the third day is always the toughest one. We are tired, but so is everyone else. Sunday is going to come down to who is more professional, more disciplined, more focused and who can deliver the final push."
- On Sunday's performance at the Gridiron Classic: "We had great energy and that is how we wanted to end the tournament. Everyone woke up a little sore, but we discussed how important it is to have a big start to set the tone of the match. We had three energetic doubles matches. The atmosphere was great, and we gave each other a lot of energy. The goal was to carry the energy from doubles into singles. Winning six singles and all three doubles was a great way to end the tournament. That's where we want to be."
