THEY SAID IT
Head coach Nick Brochu

- On the tournament this weekend: "Today wasn't a good day for us. Overall, I feel that it was a great tournament. We were able to go out and face some tough competition against some Power 5 schools. I thought coming out with a .500 record each day was definitely a positive for us. We brought two veterans and two freshmen, and we had different goals for those four players.

"I thought the two seniors played well overall, but had a little bit of a letdown in doubles play in their second match, but definitely picked up there play today and played some great tennis in their win over the team from Mississippi State. They were both on point today in singles play with two impressive wins. Playing on the third day of a tournament is very hard because everyone is tired; even Loïc [Cloes] battled cramps yesterday and still had some issues with his legs today, but it was good for him to play through it. It's a good thing to see that even when your body was giving out, that your mind is still very competitive.

"The two freshmen lost their matches today, but we saw some good things out of them out of them. Martin [Bugaj] had a very tough three-set match today which could have gone either way. The goal for them this weekend was for them to see how they would match up against big schools and big opponents, and we saw some good things and we saw some things we definitely need to work on. We can definitely tell from this weekend's performance that they are going to be an asset for us as we move forward."

Assistant coach Juan Cruz Soria
- On the weekend: "It was a great tournament. The guys played many tough and long matches. The intensity was consistent from one match to the next, which is very important. I'm very happy with the way our freshman Leon [Pet'ko] competed.  He fought back today and almost came out with the win against a talented opponent. We learned a lot about ourselves this weekend and that was the goal."
