THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Nick Brochu
On Troy: "We haven't seen Troy yet this year. They have a new coach, I know they're going to be ready because he is a good coach. But at the same time, it's a new team. I think there are only three players from last year's squad. We really have to get ready. We are not going to try to match them, I think they are going to try to match us. If we do what we are supposed to do, it's going to be very good for us. That's our best chance."
"We have been working a lot on doubles. It hasn't really been our thing this year. We've had two weeks to work on it. Guys have been playing better. Now we have Clement back healthy and back at number one with Loic. The guys are excited about that. We have a strong doubles lineup when we are healthy."
"This weekend is going to be a good test. We're playing at home, its senior day, and it will be good to honor those two guys; Sam and Sacha. We have to play this weekend like we want to play at conference. The way the seeds are, we may play Troy in the first round. It's important to set the tone this weekend in case we do play them at the tournament. You have that mental advantage if you have beaten them already this season. We can't look past them, it's going to be a good test. We have to play like we are supposed to play and like it's the conference final."
On Sacha Modica and Sam Serrano: "What we really liked about them is not only they were great players, but when you come in as a junior or senior you are already mature. You bring experience. That's what we really appreciated about them. Sam, coming in as a senior, definitely helped even though he was new on the team, he helped the new guys. He was our team captain this year. Sacha, what a player. Last year he played top three for us and this year played mostly at number one. He came in as a great player, I think he is going to leave as a great team player. Really learned to gel with the guys, and become one of the guys. It shows, he is excited to be at practice every day. I have seen those two guys grow a lot in a year, year and a half. We were fortunate to get those guys for the time we did, just wish I had them for all four."
