KANSAS CITY – University of South Alabama senior
Briana Morris was voted First Team All-Southeast Region, United Soccer Coaches announced Monday afternoon.
Morris is the fourth Jaguar to earn first-team all-region distinction by that organization, and first since
Jemma Purfield in 2016.
A Hoover, Ala., native, Morris adds to her already lengthy resume this season, as she was previously tabbed Sun Belt Player and Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Sun Belt, Sun Belt Tournament Most Outstanding Performer and Sun Belt All-Tournament Team.
She led the conference with 16 goals and 34 points – by far career highs in both categories – and scored two or more goals four times, third-most by a USA player since 2008. Morris opened the year with a goal in four straight games, and later topped that with a five-game goal streak at the end of the regular season.
Nationally, she ranked 28th in goals per game (0.68) and 18th in total goals.
Morris also tallied four game-winning goals – third most in the league – including one in double overtime at Coastal Carolina, and in the regular-season finale against Appalachian State that clinched the Sun Belt title.
