THIS WEEKEND'S GAMES
South Alabama dropped to second in the conference in GAA (0.61) but is tied for first in shutouts (7). The Jaguars had a four-match shutout streak snapped last Friday at Troy.

Offensively, the Jags rank 34th in the nation in goals per game (2.29), 37th in points per game (6.50) and 41st in assists per game (1.93).

Justice Stanford's shutout streak lasted 446:24 and spanned two double-overtime contests. She is second in the league in goals against average (0.63) and save percentage (.827), and first in shutouts (6).

Stanford's clean sheet against Arkansas State was the 30th of her career, moving her into a tie for fourth in Sun Belt history. Her next shutout will tie her with Troy's Mikki Lewis.

Gracie Wilson has played all but 18 minutes in her last four games, all starts. She had two goals against ULM and an assist vs. Georgia Southern. She didn't record a point last week but put three of her six shots on goal.

Wilson is second in the conference with six assists and her .652 shot-on-goal percentage leads the team.

Briana Morris was held off the scoresheet last weekend despite putting up a team-high-tying six shots and a team-best four on goal. She is first in the league in goals (9) and points (19).

Under head coach Richard Moodie, the Jaguars are 6-1-5 in overtime games, including 2-0-2 this season. The one OT loss was at home to Coastal Carolina in 2018.

South Alabama has outscored Georgia Southern 17-0 since the Eagles joined the Sun Belt in 2014.

GS's Frida Brattum is tied for second in the conference with six goals, fifth with 13 points and first with three game-winning goals.

Last year's game vs. Coastal Carolina was the first without multiple goals by South Alabama. The Jags averaged 3.25 goals in the first four meetings, all wins.

MOODIE'S QUOTES ON THIS WEEKEND'S GAMES
On the upcoming weekend: "It's the last two road games of the year, which is absolutely wild. We're just going to make the most of the opportunity to be together on the road and enjoy the experience. It's definitely a difficult trip, but I think the girls have experienced a similar trip already, so they'll be ready for the task."

On having success in overtime: "I'd love to say that it's all me, but it's definitely not. Sometimes in overtime, we decide to go a little more aggressive – the time against Coastal last year hurt us – and sometimes we stay a little more defensive and trust that you'll get a chance at some point, even if there's 30 seconds left. Since the Coastal game last year, I've taken the approach of holding out for that chance, because when teams get tired, you'll get that opportunity. There's no secret to it, but I think when you go to overtime it's a mental challenge at that point."

On facing Georgia Southern: "First, they scored against Troy, and we were unable to do that, and they were able to break them apart a few times. They're a very good team; they're improved in a lot of ways. You've got a new coach with an inherited team, where he came in as an assistant and ended up as the head coach. He's done a fantastic job. As we get toward the end of the season, everybody is playing for something. Our focus is getting into the tournament with the highest possible seed – maybe for other teams it's different – but we're all playing for something. I don't doubt they'll make it difficult and I don't doubt they're a fantastic team from what we've seen of them. Within the Sun Belt, it's anybody's day."
