THEY SAID IT
Head coach Nick Brochu

- On today's doubles loss: "Today didn't start to well for us. Credit our opponents from LSU; they played a phenomenal match. Those two guys were play lights out from the beginning until the end. I don't know if it was the nerves or what, but at the beginning, we just weren't sharp at all. We made some mistakes. I know it's only one game, but we got broken on the first game of the match at deuce. In that game that we lost, we made three unforced errors. We just started on the wrong foot and from that point on, we were just trying to catch up, and we could never could get back. It took us probably a set to recover and figure out things out. We had to change our strategy because we weren't clicking as much as we usually do.
"In the second set, we were right there and only lost one break, which came on a no-add. We were playing well and actually had six break points to come back in the second set. Even the last game was won on a deciding point. We knew we were close and felt that if we could get that second set, we were going to be able to turn things around in our favor.
"It's very disappoint to lose today, because last year we made the finals, and going into the event we felt like we were the best team, but credit LSU again for playing a phenomenal match. They were very solid with their service game and their return game. We lost to two very good opponents today."
