MOODIE'S QUOTES ON SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA
On Southeastern Louisiana
: "We played them in the spring. (Head coach) Chris (McBride) has done a great job. They're disciplined, under the ball, work hard off the ball and keep their shape. They're a different team than they were in the spring and we are too. We know they'll be good and Chris will have them doing good things.

On using this game to prepare for the season opener: "The most important game for us is Aug. 17 against UAB. When I was setting the schedule, I was looking for a gradual progression. No disrespect to anyone, but based off RPI and records, Southeastern Louisiana will fit between Alabama A&M and UAB. That progression is what we're looking for and we know they'll give us a competitive game. They hung with us every bit of 60 minutes last year before we broke them down."

On what improvements need to be made from Wednesday: "First and foremost, we played really well. First day out, we got a clean sheet, nobody got hurt and it was a good day. For us to improve, we've got to be more clinical in the final third; somebody has to step up and score the goals. Defensively we have to be OK with our shape and be OK with not having the ball. We did really well, we just need to continue to do those things better."

On how he'll approach the game: "The girls will get playing time. We believe that the majority of the girls need to get minutes, but now we have to start figuring out who's going to start next week. At some point, we need to be playing every bit of 30 to 45 minutes with who we think will start against UAB. If we don't do that, then we're not doing our jobs as coaches. Unfortunately, that's part of college soccer; not everybody gets a chance to play. They have to know their role and appreciate, understand and respect their place in the team. We've talked to them about that. When the opportunity comes, be ready. We pick a team for the weekend and when Monday comes around, we start again; it's a clean slate. We've got a bit more depth and more options available to us in some areas, so we have to let them have a shot, but at some point we have to buckle down and focus on who we think is going to play. All of the chopping and changing on Wednesday hurt us."
