All-Time Series
South Alabama holds a 94-62 all-time lead over New Orleans in a series that dates back to 1970. USA has played UNO more times than any other opponent in the program's 50-plus year history. The Jags have won three straight in the series, and six of the last seven games after winning both matchups last season. USA has won 11 straight games over UNO at Stanky Field, dating back to 2010. Jaguar head coach Mark Calvi is 10-2 all-time against New Orleans.

Jag Notes
• South Alabama is 7-2 at Stanky Field this season, and 5-1 in home night contests. The Jags have won three of their last four home contests entering Tuesday. The Jags are 5-1 in night games at Stanky Field this year.

• The Jaguars have played seven nationally-ranked opponents this season. USA is 2-6 against top-25 competition, with wins over No. 18 Oklahoma and No. 13 Southern Miss, and losses to No. 3 Texas Tech, No. 16 LSU, No. 18 Auburn and No. 23 Indiana. USA defeated No. 28 Southeastern Louisiana on March 20, which marked its third win against ranked opposition.

• South Alabama ranks 12th nationally in walks (141), which ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference behind Coastal Carolina (161). 

• The Jaguars rank tied for second in the SBC in fielding percentage (.976) after turning in three errorless games last week.

• USA enters Tuesday's contest ranked tied for third in the Sun Belt in doubles (43) and on-base percentage (.375), fourth in runs scored (149) and RBIs (132), tied for fourth in sacrifice flies (10), and fifth in hits (194).


Jags Last Week
South Alabama went 2-1 last week with a 6-1 midweek win over No. 28 Southeastern Louisiana on March 20 at Stanky Field, and a two-game series split at Georgia State over the weekend. The Jags hit .250 with six extra-base hits - four doubles and two home runs - while posting a 4.50 team ERA in 26 innings pitched last week. Jaguar pitchers struck out 18 batters in three games, but also issued 12 walks and hit two batters.

Scouting New Orleans
The Privateers enter Tuesday's contest with a four-game losing streak after getting swept by Central Arkansas over the weekend in New Orleans, and falling at No. 5 Ole Miss 9-4 in a midweek matchup on March 20. UNO has dropped six of its last seven games, dating back to its series opener with Abilene Christian on March 16. New Orleans is batting .268 as a team, led by Owen Magee who is hitting .327 with eight doubles, four home runs, 18 RBIs and 14 runs scored in 24 games played. The Privateer pitching staff carries a 5.26 ERA into Tuesday's contest, and has struck out 240 batters against 111 walks in 215 2/3 innings pitched.


SWAGGERTY IN TOP FIVE IN TWO OFFENSIVE CATEGORIES
Center fielder Travis Swaggerty enters the week ranked third in the nation in walks per game (1.13) and fifth in the country in walks (26).

SWAGGERTY PASSES DOGGETT ON CAREER LIST
Travis Swaggerty enters the game with 117 career walks, which ranks sixth all-time at South Alabama. Swaggerty passed former Jaguar Geoff Doggett after drawing a walk in Friday's series opener at Georgia State. Swaggerty needs five walks to pass Luis Gonzalez (121) for fifth on the career list. Mike Warren holds the career record in walks at USA with 155, while Drew LaBounty ranks second all-time with 149 career walks.

HARDY AMONG SBC LEADERS IN HITS, STOLEN BASES AND RUNS
Outfielder Dylan Hardy enters the week tied for second in the SBC in stolen bases (12), and tied for third in hits (32) and runs scored (27). Hardy has reached base safely in every game this season, carrying a 23-game on-base streak into the week, and has hit safely in 18 of 23 games. Hardy also ranks sixth in the league batting average (.344) and 10th in OBP (.450)

SWAGGERTY LEADS SBC
Center fielder Travis Swaggerty enters Tuesday's game tied for the Sun Belt Conference lead in walks (26), ranks tied for third in OBP (.486), and tied for sixth in home runs (5).

DONOVAN LEADS SBC IN SACRIFICE FLIES
Third baseman Brendan Donovan enters the week ranked second in the Sun Belt in sacrifice flies (4), which ranks 12th nationally. Donovan also ranks tied for fifth in the league in RBIs (23).

HARDY'S LAST THREE WEEKS
Dylan Hardy has batted .406 with a double, four RBIs, 13 runs scored, seven stolen bases, eight walks and a .548 on-base percentage in the last three weeks, which covers a span of nine games dating back to the second game of the Louisiana series on March 10.

DAVIS AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS IN RBIs, WALKS
First baseman Wells Davis ranks tied for fifth in the Sun Belt Conference in RBIs (23), and tied for ninth in walks (19).

DONOVAN NEARS 150 CAREER HITS
Third baseman Brendan Donovan enters Tuesday's game with 149 career hits after recording three in Saturday's win at Georgia State. In his last six games, Donovan has batted .375 with two doubles, one triple, 11 RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases while posting a .542 slugging percentage and .429 OBP. He has driven in at least one run in five of his last six games.

GREENE'S LAST FOUR APPEARANCES
Since making his last start, which came on March 3 at Texas Tech in which he gave up five runs in 1 2/3 innings pitched, right-hander Zach Greene has tossed 10 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings and allowed just three hits while striking out 15 batters without issuing a walk in those four relief appearances.

LUFT LAST WEEK
Shortstop Will Luft batted .556 (5-for-9) with a double, four runs scored, and a .600 on-base percentage in three games last week, while also helping the Jaguar defense play three errorless contests.

JAGS AT NIGHT/DAY
South Alabama enters the week 6-5 in day games, and 6-4 in night games this season. 

OFFENSIVE RUNS / HITS PER GAME
South Alabama is averaging six runs scored  and eight hits per game through 23 contests, and is averaging over eight strikeouts per game against six walks per contest. The Jags have struck out 10 or more times in 11 games this season.
