THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Nick Brochu
On the matchup with DePaul:Â "I think the guys are excited. The six remaining matches we have are going to be tough. DePaul is the first time we host them here. In the past we've played them at the H.E.B. (Invitational) and it's always been close. There are so many 4-3 matches against DePaul. Last year we won 4-3 and the year before that we won 4-3. I think doubles is key. DePaul being Chicago is an indoor-team. They are a very explosive and aggressive team. I think if we can win the doubles point against them, that'll definitely play in our favor because I think that's their strength. In singles, we just have to establish our game, be patient and do the right shot selection. I think playing them at home, outside may work in our advantage."
Â
On Middle Tennessee State: "Saturday will be a big challenge for us against MTSU. Our old number one rival in the conference. We played them so many times in conference finals. It's a big history between the two programs. Last year we beat them on their home court. They're going to be looking forward for our match."
Â
On these two matches for the bottom of the lineup: "These next two matches are going to be a good test for the bottom of our lineup and see if they can dig it out. Top of the lineup is playing very solid. In these next two matches, you never know what is going to happen up top, but I think we need to focus at four, five and six. If we can be solid there it will take pressure off the top guys."
