All-Time Series
South Alabama holds a 34-13 all-time lead over ULM in a series that began in 1979. The Jaguars have won six straight games over the Warhawks entering Friday's series opener, and have also won 10 consecutive series dating back to 2008. ULM's last series win came in 2007, when it swept a three-game set from the Jaguars in Monroe, La., in its first year as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. USA is 16-3 all-time against ULM under head coach Mark Calvi.

• South Alabama has played six nationally-ranked opponents this season. South Alabama is 2-6 against top-25 competition this year, with wins over No. 18 Oklahoma and No. 13 Southern Miss, and losses to No. 3 Texas Tech, No. 16 LSU, No. 18 Auburn and No. 23 Indiana.

• South Alabama enters the weekend ranked fifth in the nation and second in the Sun Belt Conference in walks (112). 

• The Jaguars rank second in the SBC in walks (112), tied for second in sacrifice flies (8), third in on-base percentage (.377), fourth in runs scored (112), RBIs (97), doubles (31) and home runs (13), fifth in slugging percentage (.377) and hits (144), and sixth in batting average (.249); however, USA ranks second in the league with the most offensive strikeouts (165).

• The South Alabama pitching staff ranks fourth in the SBC in strikeouts (137) entering Friday's series opener, but have also issued the fourth-most walks (80) in the league entering the conference opener.

• USA is 4-1 in home games this season following wins over No. 13 Southern Miss and Hartford, and a midweek loss to No. 18 Auburn.

• The Jags are 3-3 in SBC openers under head coach Mark Calvi, but have won five of six SBC-opening series under Calvi. USA and Troy split a pair of games in 2014 to open league play.

SWAGGERTY LEADS NATION IN WALKS
Center fielder Travis Swaggerty enters the week as the nation's leader in walks (23), and ranks second in the country in walks per game (1.35). and 19th in the nation in on-base percentage (.542). 

SWAGGERTY MOVING UP CAREER LIST
Travis Swaggerty enters Friday's series opener with 114 career walks, which ranks seventh all-time at South Alabama. Swaggerty is two shy of tying Geoff Doggett (116) for sixth on the list, and needs eight walks to pass Luis Gonzalez (121) for fifth on the career list. Mike Warren holds the career record in walks at USA with 155.

DONOVAN AMONG NATION'S LEADERS IN WALKS
Shortstop Brendan Donovan ranks 12th nationally and fourth in the Sun Belt in walks (18), and 28th in the country in walks per game (1.06).

HARDY AMONG SBC LEADERS IN HITS
Outfielder Dylan Hardy ranks fourth in the Sun Belt in hits (24) entering the weekend. Hardy has reached base safely in every game this season, carrying a 17-game on-base streak into the series opener, and has hit safely in 14 of 17 games. Hardy also ranks third in the league in at-bats (73), fourth in total plate appearances (85) and tied for fifth in runs scored (18).

SWAGGERTY LEADS SBC
Center fielder Travis Swaggerty leads the Sun Belt Conference in walks (23) and on-base percentage (.542), ranks fifth in total plate appearances (83), tied for fifth in home runs (4), tied for sixth in batting average (.345), seventh in total bases (36), and eighth in slugging percentage (.621) entering the weekend.

DONOVAN, SANDLE LEAD SBC IN SACRIFICE FLIES
Freshman outfielder Michael Sandle and shortstop Brendan Donovan enter the weekend tied for the Sun Belt Conference lead in sacrifice flies (3), which ranks tied for 19th nationally.

RUSSO LEADS LEAGUE IN ABs
Third baseman Paul Russo enters Friday's series opener as the SBC leader in at-bats (76). Russo ranks tied for sixth in the league in hits (22), and tied for seventh in total plate appearances (81). 

DAVIS AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS IN RBIs, WALKS
First baseman Wells Davis ranks tied for fifth in the Sun Belt Conference in RBIs (19), and tied for sixth in walks (15).

DONOVAN VERSUS ULM
Third baseman Brendan Donovan enters the weekend with a .500 (12-for-24) career batting average against ULM in six games, and also has one double, one home run, 10 RBIs and a .519 on-base percentage in two seasons. Donovan collected seven hits in three games at ULM last year.

JAGS AT NIGHT/DAY
South Alabama enters the week 5-4 in day games, and 4-4 in night games this season.
