NO. 25 JAGS EARN THREE SEED, FACE SIXTH-SEEDED TROY TO OPEN SBC TOURNEY

NEW ORLEANS – The 25th-ranked University of South Alabama baseball team will play as the No. 3 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and open with sixth-seeded Troy Wednesday at 8 a.m. (CT) at J.I. Clements Stadium in Statesboro. Ga.

No. 2 seed Texas-Arlington, also on the Jaguars' side of the bracket, will face one of the winners of Tuesday's two single-elimination games that will feature No. 7 Arkansas State facing No. 10 Georgia State and No. 8 Texas State and No. 9 Little Rock. 

Every game of the tournament will be broadcast live by ESPN3 and available via WatchESPN.com or the WatchESPN app. Each Jaguar game will be broadcast live in Mobile on 99.5 FM The Jag and also available through the iHeartRadio app. Live stats for every game will also be available through the Championships page at 

USA (36-19, 22-8 SBC) finished second in the SBC East Division after Coastal Carolina swept Appalachian State to finish with a .750 league winning percentage. The Jaguars finished with a .733 winning percentage in the conference and 22 wins, which are the most by any team under head coach Mark Calvi.

South Alabama took two of three games from Troy at Stanky Field to improve to 3-1 against the Trojans this season, and closed the regular season with wins in seven of its final eight contests. 

CCU earned the No. 1 seed and will also face one of the winners from Tuesday, while No. 4 Louisiana-Lafayette will square off with No. 5 Georgia Southern in the opening round.
