All-Time Series
• Mississippi State holds a 47-25 all-time lead over South Alabama in a series that began in 1976. The Bulldogs won a pair of games over the Jaguars earlier this season in Starkville, Miss., and have won the last three meetings in the series dating back to last season.  

• South Alabama holds a 16-2 all-time lead over Alabama State in a series that began in 1984. The Jaguars defeated the Hornets in Montgomery, Ala., 13-4 on March 21 this season.

Last Time Out
USA dropped two of three games to No. 26 Coastal Carolina last weekend in a Sun Belt Conference series at Stanky Field. The Chanticleers clinched the series with wins in the first two games, while the Jaguars rebounded for a 4-3 win in the series finale on a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning by Dylan Hardy. 

On No. 11 MSU
The Bulldogs took two of three games from South Carolina in Columbia, S.C., last weekend. MSU clinched the series with wins in each of the first two games before falling in the series finale 6-1, which snapped a five-game winning streak. The Bulldogs are 7-6 on the road this season.

On ASU
Alabama State dropped four games last week after a midweek loss to Troy and getting swept in a three-game SWAC series against Jackson State in Montgomery. Before the Troy loss, ASU held a 10-game winning streak with its last loss coming to the Jaguars on March 21 in Montgomery. ASU will face Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Ala., Tuesday before its Wednesday matchup with USA.

JAGS IN NATIONAL RANKINGS
South Alabama ranks third nationally in walks (218), 10th in on-base percentage (.412) and runs per game (7.9), 12th in runs scored (285) and 21st in home runs (40).

LABOUNTY, SWAGGERTY IN NATIONAL RANKINGS
Shortstop Drew LaBounty leads the Sun Belt Conference and ranks seventh nationally in walks per game (1.00), while center fielder Travis Swaggerty leads the SBC and ranks 15th nationally in on-base percentage (.503).

JAGS AT STANKY FIELD
USA is 9-3 in 12 home games this season, and is hitting .325 with 26 doubles, four triples, eight home runs, 115 RBI, 131 runs scored and 19 stolen bases. Eddie Paparella leads the team with a .406 batting average at Stanky Field this year.

TWO OR FEWER TO WIN
USA is 9-1 when allowing two or fewer runs, but is 12-14 when surrendering three or more. 

TWO-OUT RBI
Of USA's 261 team RBI, 106 have come with two outs which accounts for 41 percent of the Jaguars' team RBI total. Travis Swaggerty leads the squad with 17 two-out RBI this season.

JAG OFFENSE LEADS THE SUN BELT CONFERENCE 
South Alabama leads the SBC in slugging percentage (.458), on-base percentage (.412), runs scored (285), RBI (261) and walks (218), and ranks second in the league in batting average (.297), hits (363) home runs (40) and total bases (560). 

LEADING AFTER SEVEN
USA is 17-1 when leading after seven innings this season, but is 1-10 when trailing and 2-4 when tied after seven frames. 

JAGS WITH BASES LOADED
South Alabama is hitting .484 (31-for-64) with the bases loaded this season, led by Travis Swaggerty who has five hits and is hitting .714 with the bags full of Jags. USA has hit six grand slams this season, led by Eddie Paparella with two, following Jared Barnes' game-winning grand slam last Tuesday at New Orleans.

RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION
The Jags are batting .321 (129-for-402) with runners in scoring position.Travis Swaggerty leads the team with 16 hits with RISP. The Jags hit .281 (9-for-32) with runners in scoring position in last weekend's series against No. 26 Coastal Carolina.

TEN OR MORE RUNS
USA is 9-0 when scoring 10 or more runs this season and 16-5 when scoring six or more, but is 5-10 when scoring five or less. 

HOME RUN PRODUCTION 
South Alabama has homered in nine of its last 11 contests and has already surpassed last season's home run total of  31. The Jags entered the Coastal Carolina series having homered in eight straight games, but that streak was snapped after a homerless game by the Jaguars in the series opener. USA managed just one home run, which came in game two of the series from Jared Barnes, in the three-game weekend set. 

EARLY/LATE-INNING RUN PRODUCTION
South Alabama has outscored the opposition 29-9 in the first inning and 21-2 in the ninth inning this season. USA has allowed more runs (31) in the sixth inning than any other frame this year.

JAG BATS LAST WEEK
South Alabama hit .263 with eight doubles, three home runs, 25 RBI and 25 runs scored while going 2-2 in four games last week. Freshman second baseman Hunter Stokes led the team with a .417 batting average, and also added a double, one home run, four RBI and two runs scored.
