• South Alabama enters the Tuesday's matchup with SLU as the Sun Belt Conference leader in batting average (.298), on-base percentage (.411) and slugging percentage (.443), and ranks second in the league in walks (87), home runs (15), runs scored (126) and triples (5).
• Center fielder Travis Swaggerty carries a team-best 13-game hitting streak into Tuesday's game having recorded at least one hit in every game he has played in this season. Swaggerty has driven in runs in eight of 13 contests this year.
• South Alabama leads the nation as well as the Sun Belt Conference in fielding percentage (.988) entering Tuesday's game.

Travis Swaggerty enters Tuesday's contest ranked third in the nation in on-base percentage (.614) and eighth in batting average (.488), both of which lead the Sun Belt Conference.
BARNES NAMED TO JOHNNY BENCH AWARD WATCH LIS
Catcher Jared Barnes was named to the 2017 Johnny Bench Award Watch List presented by BaseballSavings.com, as announced by the Greater Wichita Sports Commission last week. The award is given annually to the top Division I catcher. The watch list is composed of 85 student-athletes across the nation, and will be updated on May 1. The watch list will be narrowed to a semifinalist list on May 17, while finalists will be announced on June 5. Barnes enters the weekend batting .297 with one double, one home run, six RBI, seven runs scored and two stolen bases in 11 games played. He has recorded three multiple-hit games this season, including a two-hit performance Tuesday at Auburn in which he also drove in one run.
SWAGGERTY LAST WEEK
Center fielder Travis Swaggerty batted .556 (10-for-18) with two doubles, one home run, nine RBI, four runs scored and three stolen bases while posting a .636 on-base percentage and .833 slugging percentage in five games last week. He recorded two multiple-hit games, including a career-high four hits at Auburn along with a career-high four RBI, and finished with three hits and three RBI Sunday against Mississippi State. Swaggerty hit safely in all five games last week to extend his hitting streak to 13 games and drove in runs in three of five contests, all of which were multi-RBI performances.
