MEN’S TENNIS LOOKS TO EXTEND WIN STREAK AT HOME

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama men's tennis team hosts Auburn on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., and the Jaguars will also face Georgia State Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.

"This weekend will be a big test for us," said South Alabama head coach Nick Brochu.  "It's also a good opportunity to play against two ranked opponents.  I know our guys are excited to play them, especially at home in front of our fans."

The Jags look to continue their four-game win streak this weekend. Most recently, USA blanked Nicholls State 7-0 last weekend, taking all seven points in straight sets.

Senior Tuki Jacobs (Windhoek, Namibia), ranked No. 50 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, has gone 5-0 in singles this spring, including a victory over No. 71 Aziz Dougas.

Senior Juan Cruz Soria (San Juan, Argentina) was named the first Sun Belt Player of the Week for the spring season on Wednesday.  Soria has gone 6-1 in singles matches and 5-2 in doubles matches in spring action so far.

Auburn opened the season with a 4-2 record. The Tigers are coming off a 4-3 loss to Georgia Tech last weekend.

Georgia State started their spring season with three straight wins, but they have dropped four out of their last six matches, falling to 5-4 on the year. The last time the Jags and the Panthers faced off, GSU won 6-1 over South Alabama.
