BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The South Alabama men's tennis team closed out the Samford Invitational on Sunday winning two of three doubles matches and four of six singles matchups.
 
SINGLES
-Clement Marzol dominated Samford's Justin Ghavami 6-1, 6-0, while Loic Cloes defeated Jake Faundez of Samford 6-3, 6-3.
-Samford's Aleksander Petrovic defeated Nathan Fruh 6-3, 6-0.
-Lucas Gonzalez defeated Eduardo Max Rebel of Samford 6-3, 6-4.
-Olivier Gingras took down Samford's Eduardo Lourido 7-5, 6-2.
-Santiago Di Loreto fell to Hugo Moreia of Samford in a three-set battle 5-7, 6-4, 6-1.
 
DOUBLES
-Cloes and Marzol dominated Belmont's Hendrik Inno and Vincent Sterkens 6-1.
-Gingras and Fruh fell to Samford's Jake Briggs and Stephen Goldman, 6-2, while Gonzalez and Di Loreto defeated Zak Khan and David Faulkner of Samford 6-2.
 
NOTES
-Cloes and Marzol won all of their singles doubles matches going 6-0 during the weekend. Both also did not drop a single set.
-Gingras went a perfect 3-0 in singles action on the weekend.
-Gonzalez and Di Loreto picked up their first doubles win of the fall.

On the weekend: "It was a great weekend for us. We were looking for consistency over all three days and I think we did really well. Finishing 14-3 in singles was impressive and we had improvement from day to day three, especially in doubles. I was happy to see Loic and Clement finish 3-0 in singles and doubles. It was great preparation for regionals."
