MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama baseball team will face New Orleans at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Maestri Park in New Orleans.
USA (15-5) will send right-hander Harrison Spruiell (1-0) to the mound for his third start of the season, while UNO (15-5) will start left-hander Bryan Warzek (0-1).
The game will be broadcast live on WNTM 710 AM in Mobile, and can also be accessed via the iHeartRadio app. Live stats will be available through USAJaguars.com, and in-game updates are provided through Twitter at the official South Alabama Baseball account (@SouthALBaseball).
South Alabama has won six of its last seven games after sweeping Texas-Arlington last weekend at Stanky Field. The Jags lead the Sun Belt Conference in walks (105), which ranks 16th nationally, and stolen bases (32), and ranks third in the league in RBI (114), home runs (13) and runs scored (127). The Jags are tied for the league lead in fielding percentage (.980) and fewest errors committed (15).
Cole Billingsley leads the SBC in stolen bases (9), and is tied for the league lead in sacrifice flies (4). Drew LaBounty ranks second in stolen bases (6), third in on-base percentage (.476), tied for fourth in walks (15), fifth in batting average (.379) and tied for seventh in RBI (17). Danny Martinez ranks second in the league in RBI (22), while left-hander Shane McKinley is tied for the SBC lead in saves (4)
UNO took two of three games at Stephen F. Austin over the weekend. The Privateers are 13-1 at home this season. UNO is hitting .300 as a team, but enters Tuesday's contest with a 5.93 team ERA.
South Alabama holds a 91-61 all-time lead over New Orleans in a series that dates back to 1970. The Jaguars swept a three-game series from the Privateers last year at Stanky Field to open the season.Â
