MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama baseball team will host Alabama State at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stanky Field.

Jaguar right-hander Hunter Soleymani (0-0) will make his first start of the season. Soleymani is 2-3 with one save and a 3.81 ERA in his career at USA. Tuesday's game will be his ninth career start after he made seven his freshman year and one last season. Alabama State is scheduled to start RHP Hunter McIntosh.

USA redshirt sophomore Drew LaBounty enters the week as the Sun Belt Conference leader in RBI with eight, while Danny Martinez ranks second in the league with six RBI.

Ben Gann enters the game with a six-game hitting streak after hitting safely in his last three games last year and each game of last weekend's series. Danny Martinez, Brendan Donovan and Carter Perkins enter the game with a three-game hitting streak each. 

USA enters the week as the SBC leader in batting average (.343), slugging percentage (.519), on-base percentage (.434), runs scored (34), hits (37), RBI (31) and total bases (56). The Jags are tied for the league lead with three home runs.

The Jaguars swept a three-game series from Evansville last weekend at Stanky Field, while the Hornets dropped all three games against Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La.
