The University of South Alabama women's basketball team will welcome five newcomers to the Jaguar roster during the 2015-16 season. Of the course of the summer, USAJaguars.com will sit down with each of them for Q & A session to help fans see another side of the newest Jags.
The second newcomer for USA fans to get to know is D'Andra Pringle, a 5-8 freshman guard from Mountain View High School in Lawrenceville, Ga. Pringle talks about why she chose South Alabama and her favorite place on campus among other topics.
How do you see yourself being able to help the team this season?"I will have to work hard (in practice) so I can be able to perform during the games. Not just myself, but my teammates as well are going to have to work hard. I think if I work hard, I can be a good asset to the team."
What do you feel is a strength that you bring to the team?"The strengths of my game are my ability to come off picks and to get in the lane, and also my ability to hit floaters and mid-range jumpers. I work on those areas of my game all of the time."
What do you feel is going to be the biggest thing for you and your teammates to do this season to be successful?"Since we have a lot of newcomers to the team, we are going to have to get used to playing with each other and build chemistry. I think that will be a key area for us."
Is there a teammate of yours who you look up to? What If so, who and why?"It would have to be Marquita Daniels. We grew up together and played on the same AAU team. I've always looked up to her. She's such a great player."
Why did you choose to come to South Alabama?"I made my decision towards the end of my senior season. I already had it in my mind that I wanted to come to South Alabama, because of the relationship that I had built with the coaches before I even came on my visit. When I came on my visit and met the players, there wasn't that awkward tension that you usually have when you first meet new people. I'm usually shy around new people and it wasn't like that. The fact that I just opened up so quickly to them made me feel like I would really be comfortable here."
What do you feel will be the biggest adjustment for you here at South Alabama?"Just getting used to the physicality and pace of the game at this level."
What do you plan to do after graduation?"I would like to be a pharmacist when I get done with school."
What is one interesting thing that Jaguar fans may not know about you?"I'm really out going. I like to dance. I dance all of the time in my room alone."
Do you have a favorite place on campus?"Yes. The Delta Deli. I love the food and the chicken wings that they have. I go there every weekend."
What does it mean to you to be a Jaguar?"It means a lot to me. I feel kind of special. I have a reputation now. We have high standards here and I feel like I'm held accountable for those standards. I have to get with the program and I like that."

Who has been the most influential person in your life? I'll have to say my mother.
Who do you feel is the funniest person on the team? Marquita Daniels.
