MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama baseball team will continue conference play when it travels to Monroe, La., for a three-game Sun Belt Conference weekend series at Warhawk Field.

The series opener is scheduled for 6 p.m. first pitch Friday evening, and game two will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday. The series finale will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Each game of the series will broadcast live on WNTM 710 AM in Mobile, and also accessed via the iHeartRadio app. Live stats for all three games will be available through the multimedia section of USAJaguars.com, and in-game updates will be available at Twitter.com/SouthALBaseball. USA (16-9, 5-4 SBC) enters the series having won four of its last five games after shutting out Alabama 3-0 Tuesday at Stanky Field. ULM (12-10, 2-4 SBC) has dropped three of its last four contests after losing two of three games at Appalachian State last weekend, and falling at Southeastern Louisiana 7-6 Tuesday in Hammond, La.

Jaguar right-hander Kevin Hill (2-0) will make his fourth start of the season, while ULM will counter with right-hander Alex Hermeling (2-4). Hill has tossed nine consecutive scoreless innings entering the weekend, and leads the Sun Belt in opposing batting average (.127), runs allowed (2) and wins (2) in conference games. He ranks second in ERA (0.90) in league contests, and tied for third in strikeouts (21).

Right-hander Ryne Long (1-2) will get his seventh start of the year in Saturday's game, while ULM will send right-hander Brandon Bell (3-3) to the mound. The series finale will feature Jaguar southpaw Jared Gates (1-0) going against Warhawk left-hander Trey Setzer (3-0).

South Alabama holds a 26-12 all-time lead over Louisiana-Monroe in a series that dates back to 1979. The Jags have won the last seven series, with the last ULM win coming in 2007 with a three-game sweep of USA in Monroe. South Alabama is 8-2 all-time against ULM under head coach Mark Calvi, and has won eight of the last nine regular-season meetings between the schools under his direction.

Danny Martinez carries a 20-game on-base streak into the weekend, while Bud Collura, Cole Gleason and Ben Gann each carries a five-game hitting streak into the series opener.

USA leads the SBC in batting average (.300), on-base percentage (.417), runs scored (95), hits (151), walks (79), hit by pitch (30) and sacrifice flies, and also leads the league with a .975 fielding percentage.
