DANIELLE HENLEY NAMED CoSIDA SOCCER ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT

AUSTIN, Texas – University of South Alabama sophomore Danielle Henley has been selected to the 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ 4 Women's Soccer Team, the organization announced Thursday.

The Hattiesburg, Miss. native earns the honor for the first time in her career, and is the third South Alabama soccer student-athlete to receive CoSIDA all-District distinction.

A biomedical science major with a 3.90 grade point average, Henley is third on the team in both goals (6) and points (15), and second in game-winning goals (2). The midfielder ranks tied for 10th in the Sun Belt in goals per game (0.33) and tied for fourth in game-winners.

Four of her six goals have come in league play, and she closed the regular season with scores in each of her final two matches, including the match-winning strike against Arkansas State. She also set up game-winning goals against Mississippi State and Appalachian State.

As a team, the Jaguars rank first in the SBC in goals (2.44) and points per game (7.17), and second in goals allowed (0.78) and goals against average (0.75).

USA enters next week's Sun Belt Tournament with a 15-2-1 overall record and a 9-0 mark in league play.

Henley will advance to the Academic All-America® ballot; voting results for the national award will be announced in November.
