MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama baseball team will travel to Atlanta for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series with Georgia State this weekend.
The series will kick off with game one Friday at 5 p.m. (CT), followed by game two Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT). The series will conclude with the finale at noon (CT) Sunday.

USA left-hander Locke St. John (5-1) will start game one for the Jaguars, while GSU will counter with southpaw Kenny Anderson (4-3). Right-hander Kevin Hill (3-5) will start Saturday's contest, while the Panthers will counter with right-hander Nathan Bates (1-2). Hunter Soleymani (0-2) will start the finale for USA, while GSU right-hander Aidan McLaughlin (1-1) will get the start for the Panthers.
South Alabama (20-24, 9-11 SBC) enters the weekend having won three of its last four games after taking two of three from Louisiana-Monroe last weekend at Stanky Field, and earning a 12-11 win at Alabama State Wednesday.
South Alabama has recorded 10 or more hits in 15 games this season. However, the Jaguars enter the weekend with four consecutive games with 10-plus hits and tied a single-game high in hits (15) in Wednesday's win at Alabama State. The Jags are batting .256 in SBC games, while the pitching staff has posted a 3.89 ERA in 20 league games.
Georgia State (21-24, 7-14 SBC) has won four of its last five games after going 4-1 last week. The Panthers swept a pair of midweek games before taking two of three games from Arkansas State last weekend in Atlanta. GSU ranks third in the conference in batting average (.300), but is ninth in the league with a 5.50 team ERA.
Nic Wilson leads the SBC in home runs (13), while Chase Raffield is tied for second in the league with 10. Raffield leads the team in batting average (.357), hits (56), RBI (46) and on-base percentage (.461). Wilson owns the team lead in runs scored (43), total bases (108) and slugging percentage (.667).
USA enters the weekend sixth in the Sun Belt standings, while GSU is ninth in the league.
