MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama baseball team will travel to San Marcos, Texas, this weekend for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series with Texas State.
The series will kick off with game one Friday at 6:30 p.m., and will continue with game two Saturday at 3 p.m. The series finale is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday at Bobcat Stadium.
All three games will be streamed live and will be available for purchase through the All-Access section of USAJaguars.com. Each game of the series will be broadcast live on WNSP 105.5 FM in Mobile, and can be accessed nationwide at WNSP.com. South Alabama (13-15) carries a five-game losing skid into the weekend after dropping two midweek contests to Southeastern Louisiana and Southern Mississippi. The Jaguars lead the SBC in sacrifice bunts (30), but are last in the league in hits (217), runs scored (88), RBI (78), on-base percentage (.318), slugging percentage (.285), total bases (260), doubles (28) and home runs (3).
USA left-hander Locke St. John (3-1) will start Friday's series opener, while TSU will send right-hander Taylor Black (2-3) to the mound. Jaguar right-hander Kevin Hill (2-3) will start game two, while right-hander Austen Williams (3-1) will get the start for the Bobcats. South Alabama has not announced a starter for the series finale. TSU will start right-hander Lucas Humpal (2-1) in Sunday's contest.
TSU (17-11, 6-3 SBC) is 2-3 in its last five games after falling at Texas last week, dropping two of three games last weekend at Arkansas State and defeating Texas-San Antonio Tuesday. The Bobcats are batting .247 as a team, while the pitching staff carries a 3.70 team ERA into the series.
