MOBILE, Ala. – Texas-Arlington right-hander Daniel Milliman tossed six shutout innings to lead the Mavericks to a 6-1 win over University of South Alabama baseball Sunday at Stanky Field.

UTA (12-16, 4-5 SBC) loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the second after JM Twichell and Levi Scott reached on a one-out single and one-out walk, respectively, and Travis Sibley reached on a fielding error by Hayden Jones at second base. But Soleymani escaped the jam without allowing a run to cross with an inning-ending strikeout of Peter Cuomo.

Sibley reached on a leadoff walk in the top of the fifth, advanced to second on a wild pitch from Soleymani then scored on an RBI single to right field by Cuomo for a 1-0 UTA advantage. Miller followed with an RBI double just inside the third base line to double the Maverick lead to 2-0. Miller scored on wild pitch from Jaguar southpaw James Traylor later in the inning to extend the UTA lead to 3-0.

A two-out RBI single to left-center field from Greg McCall in the top of the seventh scored Ryan Bottger, who reached on a one-out walk, for a 4-0 UTA lead.

Cole Jarman and Drew LaBounty reached on consecutive singles with no outs in the bottom of the eighth, and advanced one base each on a sacrifice bunt to third by Garrett DeGallier. USA loaded the bases one batter later when Andrew Tindell reached on a one-out walk. Ballew followed with an RBI single to center field to cut the Maverick lead to 4-1.

UTA added the game's final runs in the top of the ninth on a two-run single to center field by Bottger.
