MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama baseball team will host Nicholls State at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stanky Field.

South Alabama (12-10) will send right-hander Matt Bell (2-3) to the mound in his seventh start of the season, while NSU (13-12) will counter with right-hander Ryan Deemes.
USA is 7-3 over its last 10 games after taking two of three games at Arkansas-Little Rock last weekend. The Jags averaged 10 hits per game in the weekend series, and set season-high marks in hits (15) and runs scored (9) in the series opener. South Alabama is hitting .243 as a team, led by Hayden Jones who is hitting .309 with six doubles, 10 RBI and four runs scored. USA is 6-4 at Stanky Field this season, and has won five of its last six home games.
The Colonels are 6-4 in their last 10 games, but enter Wednesday's contest on a three-game winning streak after sweeping a three-game series at Lamar last weekend. NSU (13-12) is batting .240 as a team, but 32-43 in stolen bases. Keith Cormier leads NSU with a .300 batting average and has three doubles, one triple, one home run, 15 RBI, 15 runs scored and four stolen bases. The Colonel pitching staff carries a 2.48 team ERA into Wednesday's contest. Nicholls State is 5-5 on the road this year.
