NEW ORLEANS – No. 66 Tulane won three singles matches in straight sets in addition to the doubles point to defeat the University of South Alabama men's tennis team 4-2 Saturday afternoon at the City Park Pepsi Center.
The Green Wave (11-4) top the Jaguars (11-6) for the second time in two weeks after winning 4-1 in the H-E-B Tournament of Champions final March 1 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Tulane used an 8-6 victory at No. 3 to claim the doubles point and got wins at Nos. 1, 4 and 6 to clinch the match.

Alex Van Cott staked the Green Wave to an early 1-0 lead with an 8-6 win over freshman
Tuki Jacobs (Windhoek, Namibia) and sophomore
Juan Troglia (Mendoza, Argentina),
Jao Chi-Shan made it 2-0, defeating senior
Shayann Vaezzadeh (Bavent, France) 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4.
Dominik Koepfer added another point when he downed junior
Daniel Leitner (Niederfischbach, Germany) 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) and Alex Van Cott finished off the match at No. 6 with a 6-4, 6-3 win against Troglia.
The Jaguars picked up the final two points of the match when Jacobs defeated
Takuma Ohashi 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 and sophomore
Gerhard Gruindelingh (Pretoria, South Africa) outlasted Ian Van Cott in three sets 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.
Koepfer and Chi-Shan earned the first doubles victory at No. 1 but Leitner and Gruindelingh evened it up at No. 2 with an 8-3 win before the Green Wave picked up the final point.
