But ULL answered to tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first on a leadoff home run to center field by Dex Kjerstad, and took a 5-1 lead on a three-run homer by Caleb Adams in the bottom of the third.

The Cajuns increased their lead to 6-1 in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI double to right-center field by Kjerstad. Jace Conrad followed with a two-run single to right field to push the ULL lead to 8-1, and the Cajuns added their final run of the game on a Jaguar error.

Dustin Dalken singled with two outs in the top of the ninth to plate Jordan Patterson for the Jags’ final run of the game.

DeBlieux had a triple and a run scored, Dalken had a hit and an RBI and Collura drove in one run to lead USA.
