USA MEN’S TENNIS TAKES ON AUSTIN PEAY FRIDAY

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama men’s tennis team will host Austin Peay Friday at 2 p.m. on the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.

Friday’s match will mark the first-ever meeting of the Jaguars and the Governors.

The Jags (3-3) are coming off of a tough 7-0 loss to Radford on March 8.

South Alabama junior Romain Bocaert (Lille, France) enters the match boasting an 8-4 singles record overall this year and is 3-2 in dual matches. Junior Dauw Kruger (Pretoria, South Africa) is 12-7 overall and 3-3 in his spring campaign.

In doubles action Bocaert has posted a team-high 10-4 record overall while Kruger stands at 10-5 this season. Both Kruger and Bocaert are 4-2 so far this spring.

The Govs are looking to improve their 7-2 record and enter Friday’s bout on a four-match win streak. Austin Peay’s last victory came in the form of a 6-1 win over Kennesaw State on March 7.

The Governors’ No. 1, Jasmin Ademovic, and No. 2, Henrique Norbiato, have only dropped a combined three singles matches in dual play this spring. Ademovic has posted a 6-2 mark while Norbiato stands at 7-1.

Norbiato pairs up with Sean Bailey to form Austin Peay’s top doubles tandem. The duo, holding a 14-match win streak, is 15-1 overall and undefeated in the No. 1 flight in dual matches.
