MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama junior
Xavier Roberson will be out the next four to six weeks with a foot injury, head coach
Ronnie Arrow announced Wednesday.
Roberson, a Houston, Texas native, is second on the team and 24th in the Sun Belt Conference in scoring with 10.5 points per game. He had started all six games this season and leads USA with nine 3-pointers.
“He’s our best scoring guard right now,” said Arrow. “When something like this happens our other guards, Dallas (Jones), Wendell (Wright) and Trey (Anderson) have to step up. They’ve played 12 to 20 minutes per game and now we need them stepping up and taking his spot. When he gets back that will give us some depth, but we need some other people making outside shots.”
The Jaguars host Southern Miss tonight at 7:05 p.m.
