In his first collegiate cross country race, Strydom was the top runner for the Jaguar men as he posted a fourth-place finish with a time of 18:41.6 in the 6k race of the Azalea City Classic.  With the top-5 finish, Strydom helped the South Alabama men place second with 35 total points.  He was one of four Jag men to record a top-10 finish and averaged right at five minutes per mile.
