Purfield was named the first All-American in the soccer program's history last week. The sophomore from Cottingham, England was a third-team selection by the NSCAA after picking up the Defender and Player-of-the-Year honors from the Sun Belt Conference. She led the team in goals (11), assists (7) and points (29), ranking second, third and first in the league, respectively, in those categories. She recorded at least one point in 9 of 10 league games and scored three goals in the Sun Belt Tournament, two of which came in the championship game, a 2-0 victory over Coastal Carolina that gave the Jaguars their fourth title in a row.
