Brown went 2-0 with two complete game shutouts and a save in 15.2 innings of work during the Jags’ opening week of play, striking out 25 batters in her three outings while allowing just six hits and one walk en route to being named to the Sand Dollar Classic all-tournament team. In her season debut, Brown entered in the top of the sixth with Central Arkansas threatening with the bases loaded and one out, but the junior ended the threat with a strikeout and a ground out. In her first start, Brown recorded a one-hit complete game shutout against UCA, while striking out 10. In her second start, Brown held Jacksonville State to just four hits in another shutout after JSU had scored 26 runs in its first three games, but was held scoreless.
