Rivera won the javelin at the Southern Miss Invitational this weekend with a personal-best mark of 46.68m, besting a field that included 15 other competitors by nearly eight meters.  The redshirt freshman remains on top of the conference performance list in the event as the distance was more than six meters further than anyone else in the league recorded over the weekend.
